Koh Taen & Koh Madsum – Sample Itinerary
- 08.00-08:30 – Our guide and driver will pick you up at your Samui Hotel and transport you to Thong Krut Pier at the southern end of Samui Island by private air conditioned minivan. We recommend to start early in order to avoid the crowds. Exact pick up time depends of location of your Koh Samui Hotel.
- 09.00 – Start cruising on your private Longtail Boat, the journey to Koh Taen takes about 30 minutes.
- 09:30 – Arrive at Koh Tan and enjoy snorkeling at the lively and shallow coral reef, with beautiful hard corals and a lot of small tropical fish.
- 10:30 – Back on the boat, cruise to the nearby Koh Madsum.
- 11:00 – Arrive at Koh Madsum, plenty of time to enjoy the white sandy beach, swimming in the crystal clear water and relax.
- 13:30 – Leave Koh Mudsum and travel back to the pier
- 14:30 – Arrived Thong Krut Pier and have lunch at the pier.
- 15:00 – Transfer back to your hotel in Koh Samui, arrive your hotel around 15:30 hrs.

Overview:
The perfect tour if you like an easy and quiet trip without cruising for very long distances and be out for a whole day. Since it’s a private tour everything is done at your own pace and don’t have to follow a fixed program, plus you get personal service and attention from the guide & staff which is great. We suggest early morning start to avoid the crowds but in the end it’s your choice.
The Islands:
Koh Tan and Koh Madsum are a little corner of paradise offering good opportunities for snorkeling and also beautiful beach with clear water. While they don’t have incredible landscapes and views as you could find at more popular places like Ang Thong Marine Park or Koh Tao & Koh Nangyuan, on the other hand they are much less crowded with tourists and perfect if you prefer to visit places a bit off the beaten track.
Snorkeling:
The snorkeling at Koh Taen in is fine as the reef is shallow and healthy with a large variety of hard corals and small colorful tropical fish, however the visibility in the water can be average if the sea was choppy on the days before.
The Beach:
Koh Madsum has a long and beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear water, and is almost deserted until late morning when more boats arrive but even then it’s still reasonably quiet. The water off the beach at Koh Madsum is very shallow so it’s perfect for small children, while you may not love it if you prefer beaches where the water gets deep quickly.
